Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, responsible for the ultra-right small group the Zouaves, was imprisoned on Thursday evening January 20. This young 23-year-old activist took part in a demonstration while he was under judicial control, Agence France-Presse learned from the Bobigny prosecutor’s office.
Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier was arrested Thursday in Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine) following violations of the obligations of his judicial control and omissions of pointing at the police station of Fontainebleau. He was seen participating in a rally on Saturday in Paris on the sidelines of demonstrations against the vaccine pass during which AFP journalists were attacked. His judicial review was revoked and he was jailed late that evening.
This Friday, January 21, the 23-year-old young man was sentenced to one year in prison for the attack on a Parisian bar emblematic of the anti-fascist movement.

Violence during a meeting of Éric Zemmour
His small group, the Zouaves, had been dissolved on January 5 in the Council of Ministers, suspected in particular of being involved in the violence committed during a meeting of the far-right presidential candidate Éric Zemmour in Villepinte in December. Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier had been indicted for aggravated willful violence and willful violence in a meeting and placed under judicial control, a measure prohibiting him from participating in these gatherings.
“Inside these nice demonstrators, there were (members) of the Zouaves, and in particular the person who is in charge of the Zouaves who had punched during the meeting of Mr. Zemmour”, declared Gérald Darmanin , who announced his arrest. According to the Minister of the Interior, invited on France Info, “we see him with a megaphone to evoke the slogans”. The Zouaves, followers of flash actions in the image of hooligans, defend “the concept of superiority of the ‘Whites'”. The group was born from the gathering of former members of the Union Defense Group (GUD), the Social Bastion and Identity Generation, all dissolved.
