In a one-hour indictment, prosecutor Marc-Antoine Moreau detailed “careful and long-term preparationof this theft, of which a large part of the product has never been found and which has resulted in five people being tried since Monday at the Bobigny court. “Adrien Derbez’s line of defense is to make people believe, like Toni Musulin, that he is a victim of Loomis society, a victim of society period.“, defended the prosecutor, in reference to the courier of funds from Lyon sentenced in 2010 for the theft of 11.6 million euros.
The case of Toni Musulin, an employee of the same company and who followed a similar procedure, was in this file “an almost imposed figure, an almost totemic referencefor Adrien Derbez, said the prosecutor. For the main defendant, aged 30, he matched his requisition of fourteen years in prison with a two-thirds security period and a fine of 300,000 euros.

“The seal of organized crime”
On February 11, 2019, the cash courier, driving an armored van, lost company with his two colleagues while they were inside a Western Union branch in Aubervilliers to deposit funds there.
The vehicle is quickly discovered but no trace of the driver, nor of the 3.1 million euros contained in bags. The run, however, turns out to be short-lived. Guided by anonymous information, the police arrested him the next day in a hideout in Amiens, his hometown, with nearly a million euros in cash. The material discovered by the investigators, the preparation spread over several months, “it’s not the mark of a bargain hunter, it’s the seal of organized crime“, lambasted Marc-Antoine Moreau.

His childhood friend Mickaël CM, whose DNA was found on a balaclava, is the mysterious “partner in crimewho helped him empty the van in Aubervilliers and then flee to Amiens, according to the version of the prosecutor. Against him, the prosecution requested nine years in prison and a fine of 100,000 euros, as well as six years in prison against his brother Francisco, suspected of having helped to disperse and hide the stolen funds. The three men appeared detained. Four years in prison, three of which were suspended, were also required for two women prosecuted for concealment. The judgment is expected in the evening.
