Their disappearance is soon and it is very worrying

It is an animal species which should unfortunately be extinct very soon. Polar bears are more threatened than ever.

This Monday, July 20, researchers published in the specialized journal Nature Climate Change a study revealing the disturbing disappearance of polar bears. They claim that in 80 years, there will be none at all. At least that's a very high probability given the current circumstances. Indeed, if by 2100 we risk not seeing any more on the ice floes, it is because of global warming. It is from the pack ice that these animals feed, particularly seals. However, with global warming, the sea ice is melting more and more.

If the sea ice melts during the summer, it has never been a problem for these animals which are young during this period. Indeed, they can go 200 days without feeding. But, currently, the sea ice is melting even outside the summer period. On the other hand, if a polar bear has not eaten before the summer, it will only last 120 days. As a result, these animals currently and for some time have been eating less and less. They risk starving and disappearing from the planet.

Females are all the more threatened by global warming. It is important to eat for her because thanks to this, they store fat and can give birth. If the impact is significant on females, this will therefore have consequences on the survival of this species and their reproduction.

Which animals are in danger of extinction?
