/ Mom / Child / Vaucluse: their transgender child can be called Lilie at school!

This Aubignan family in Vaucluse fought for their 8-year-old son's transidentity to be recognized at school. It is now done, the little Baptist will now be called Lilie

A few days ago, we related the family story of Baptiste, aka Lilie, a transgender child who sees himself as a girl rather than a boy. According to information from France Bleu, his parents had been fighting for months to have their son's transidentity officially recognized at school, and for the teacher to call him by the first name he chose.

However, the academic inspectorate refused to call him that, because of his age and because his marital status had not yet changed. Yesterday, Wednesday September 9, the academic director of Vaucluse, Christian Patoz, decided: the little Baptist will now be able to call himself Lilie at school. “The analysis of the situation yesterday at the end of the day with regard to the elements of expertise that were gathered led me to advise the use of the first name proposed by parents in class and within school ", he said.

“Not born in the right body”

The feeling of not having been born in the right body is a feeling one hears frequently from transgender people. Born girls and feeling like boys or, as is the case of little Lilie, born boys but feeling like girls … This situation is obviously not easy and brings its share of suffering.

For Lilie, however, her parents gave her unwavering support, supporting her from the start of her quest for identity. " We don't know if this is something that will last for her, we know that there are people who feel like a girl at this time of their life and who afterwards feel like a boy again, we will follow her deep feelings ", her mother told BFMTV.

In the meantime, Lilie does want to be considered a girl and her parents have also informed France Bleu that the steps for her to change sex have been initiated.
