There is a bug in Palworld that reduces the chance of capturing creatures

The statues of Ticureuil, which can be found almost everywhere in Palworld, would be affected by a bug. While they are supposed to improve the chances of catching Pals, the opposite would happen.

When we walk in the environments of Palworld, you can come across small green statues that shine in the distance, bearing the image of a Ticureuil. This is not a trap: by activating them, you are supposed to receive a boost to improve your chances of capturing Pals. Except that, according to this Kotaku article from February 5, the opposite would happen.

Various testimonies abound in this direction, knowing that PocketPair has not yet commented on this supposed bug. In a video published on February 1 on YouTube, Chalenor, a modest content creator, compares two situations: one without activating the statues, one with them. Upon arrival, its capture rate drops radically: it goes from 53 to 37%. For the moment, we would therefore be encouraged not to activate these crossed statues in Palworlda phenomenon compared to Pokémon (there are 296 in all).

Tip: Do not activate the green statues in Palworld

Paul Tassi, who writes for Forbes, shared his thoughts on the subject in a February 4 post. He corroborates Chalenor’s results, although he has no concrete figures to provide to illustrate his experience. He indicates : ” We cannot exclude the fact that this may be confirmation bias, but it corresponds to my own experience, where I did not notice an increase in my chances of capture at all, rather an decline a priori. » He adds that he has found himself more often in situations where Pals manage to escape despite an 85% chance of capture.

In the comments of Chalenor’s video, several people confirm the phenomenon, which looks like a bug. “ This is consistent with my own experience. I’m very annoyed by my low capture rate, even with more powerful spheres », sighs MrAzorid. “ I thought it was my imagination », breathes jon9509. In short, if you feel like you’re capturing fewer Pals after activating lots of Ticureuil statues, know that you’re not alone.

If this is indeed a bug, then it is problematic: wasting spheres on Pals means a big loss of resources (the Poké Balls of Palworld must be manufactured, which costs time and precise materials). Another hypothesis? The developers are teasing and trolling everyone by claiming that the statues apply a positive effect, when that is completely false.
