This is the trend of the moment, the QR Code is appearing on the new version of the electoral map.
With the crisis linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and the health pass (which has recently turned into a vaccine pass), the French have become accustomed to using QR Code technology, which is becoming more democratic everywhere beyond of the famous pass.
The QR Code does not contain any personal information
The government is taking the opportunity to use this tool even on the new electoral map. This is the first time that a QR Code will be present on this document. But do not panic, it does not contain any personal data.

, which lists information and provides access to procedures concerning the upcoming elections. As a reminder, 2022 is a very important year since the French will be called to the polls in April for the presidential elections, then in June for the legislative elections.
A simple way to access administrative procedures
On the site to which the QR Code refers, it is possible to:
- check your electoral situation;
- find your polling station;
- register online, until March 2, 2022, on the electoral lists;
- make a proxy request in the event of an impediment on polling day.
For citizens who use power of attorney to vote, the service also allows you to check to whom you have given power of attorney, or who has given you power of attorney.
Note that to establish a power of attorney, it is now necessary to provide the national voter number of the two persons concerned. This is composed in the majority of cases of 8 or 9 digits and is found on the electoral card.
Finally, the website of the Ministry of the Interior is also purely informative, with explanations on the role and powers of elected officials in France or on the different types of elections organised.
