There were two alarms – fire brigades on duty in the event of an accident and fire

Fire brigades had to go out on two occasions on Sunday night at Lake Ossiach: First, a car had to be recovered whose heavily intoxicated driver had left the road. Only a few hours later, a fire had to be extinguished.

The first alert for the Ossiach, Bodensdorf, Steindorf and Feldkirchen fire brigades was already around 10 p.m. on Saturday: A Himmelberger (26) had come to the left road shoulder with his vehicle in the Alt Ossiach area and damaged a road marker. After that, the driver should have pulled the wheel to the right, came off the road with the vehicle and crashed into a street lamp. The 26-year-old was slightly injured, but had to be rescued from the wreck by the fire department. An alcohol test on the man revealed that he was heavily intoxicated. Only a few hours later, then the second operation: A woman from Bodensdorf had heard a smoke detector beeping loudly and then discovered a fire at her neighbors. An outbuilding caught fire, the woman woke her neighbors (72 and 65). The Ossiach, Stindorf, Bodensdorf and Tiffen fire brigades were deployed with around 70 firefighters. The outbuilding and the pool were severely damaged by the flames. Luckily, the two residents were unharmed.
