Thermomix: Vorwerk launches a vegetable cutter, a small revolution

It’s a small revolution for Thermomix“: these words dropped by Jean-Sébastien Clément, communication manager at Vorwerk, are an understatement. Indeed, it has been 50 years that the Thermomix has provided the almost complete services of an efficient and versatile kitchen clerk without however, offer the cutting of vegetables into slices or the grater.A shame for such a sophisticated robot-cooker supposed to bring together in a single device all the electrical appliances of the house.

To make up for this considerable absence, Vorwerk is finally launching its instant cutter compatible with the Thermomix TM6 and TM5. This accessory takes the form of a plastic cutting bowl (grey like the brand’s other accessories) which is inserted into the main bowl of the Thermomix. Just add the axis of the disc and the disc, which allows you to make 4 different cuts depending on the direction in which you put it.

The light gray side is for grating, the dark gray side is for slicing (or slicing). Depending on the direction of rotation of the blades, the thickness will be more or less thin. Remember that the power of the Thermomix motor is large enough to slice as efficiently on one side as on the other.

Vorwerk ensures that its pressure cutter is compatible with almost all vegetables: potatoes, radishes, carrots, cucumbers, onions, pineapples, etc. Only tomatoes or avocados that are too ripe could end up in compote. As for frozen foods, they are simply prohibited.

The automatic programs that come with this accessory are already deployed on the Thermomix TM6 interface. For TM5 users, the manipulation consists of switching to manual mode and activating speed 4.

The only contraindication of Vorwerk is not to push (or press) the vegetables towards the bottom of the bowl to avoid the risk of damaging the scales located in the feet of the food processor.

Cookidoo gets up to date

To celebrate this new accessory, Cookidoo (the recipe platform for the Thermomix) is updating and is already recording 15 recipes that put the vegetable cutter in the spotlight. This catalog is set to grow rapidly. But one of the long-awaited features that will soon be deployed on Cookidoo (version 3.0, available October 10) is “portions” which automatically adjusts the quantities of ingredients according to the number of guests (up to 8 people for certain recipes).

The Vorwerk instant cutter is slowly but surely entering the Vorwerk distribution network, for direct sale therefore, at a price of 99 euros.
