These Anker power banks are catching fire, stop using them!

This is a procedure following the discovery of a dangerous manufacturing defect. The affected products, sold between January 3 and September 17, 2024, present a risk of overheating which can lead to fire.

Which Anker power banks are affected?

The affected external batteries are:

• 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K)
• Power Bank pack and MagGo Power Bank, numbers A1642, A1647 and A1652

To check if your power bank is affected, locate the model number and serial number on the bottom. These are required for Anker’s free replacement. You’ll then need to fill out an online form with the serial number, proof of purchase, and a photo of the model number.

It is crucial that you do not dispose of power banks with household waste or in store recycling bins. Anker advises contacting your local authorities or, for US users, visiting the US Environmental Protection Agency website to find a suitable recycling point.

This recall follows a similar incident in June involving the 321 Power Bank (PowerCore 5K) and the A3102 Soundcore smart speaker. Anker attributes the issues to a previous supplier and says it has changed partners. The company is committed to reviewing its quality assurance processes to prevent future incidents.
