Cracker duel for the French
These are the round of 16 of the European Championship

With Georgia, the biggest underdog actually makes it into the knockout round of the European Football Championship. Some of the favorites struggle, but none of them fail in the group phase. The round of 16 has a cracker duel in store.

The European Football Championship in Germany has its first real top match in the knockout phase. On Monday (6 p.m.) in Düsseldorf, vice world champions France and fellow favorites Belgium will meet in the round of 16. This is clear after the last preliminary round matches in groups E and F. The French came second in their group D, just like the Belgians in group E.

The expected duel between England and the Netherlands will not take place due to the constellation of the best third-placed teams in the group. Instead, the Three Lions will face Slovakia.

Switzerland vs. Italy (on Saturday in Berlin) and Germany vs. Denmark (on Saturday in Dortmund) had already been confirmed as the round of 16 matches before Wednesday. The other third-placed teams were assigned as follows: Slovenia will face Portugal, Georgia will face Spain, and the Netherlands will face Romania. Austria, as group winners, will play against Turkey, which secured second place.
