these attractive offers at reduced prices that you should be wary of

With prices falling in wholesale energy markets, many competitive deals are being offered by suppliers. If they represent an opportunity for consumers, the regulator invites them to pay attention, in particular, to the conditions for price revisions and termination of offers.

This is a new warning from the energy sector regulator. In a press release released Tuesday evening, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) warned individual customers.

“In a context of low wholesale market prices, many competitive offers are offered by suppliers. These offers represent an opportunity for consumers who would like to reduce their electricity or natural gas bill,” indicates the CRE. However, it strongly encourages individuals “to be attentive to all the conditions of sale of the offers currently offered on the market, in particular the conditions of price revisions and termination of offers”.

Irregularities or inaccuracies noted

In its press release, the regulator indicates that it has “asked several suppliers to correct or improve the stipulations of their general conditions of sale in which it has noted irregularities or inaccuracies. »

In the event of non-compliance with the commitments of all suppliers, it will not hesitate to contact the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Repression (DGCCRF).

Electricity: the tip to avoid the new increase in the EDF regulated tariff on your bill

“Whatever type of contract you have signed, price indexed to regulated prices or fixed price, carefully check the messages you receive from your supplier. Depending on their content, it is useful to consider changing supplier or offer,” underlines the energy mediator.
