On the famous social network TikTok, a veterinarian published a video in which she revealed the dog breeds she likes the least. The opportunity to learn more about the most restrictive doggies on a daily basis.
When buying a dog, many people face a difficult dilemma: which breed to choose? And for good reason: the behavior of the animal can greatly depend on the latter. So the future masters embark on a real headache to try to choose the best option. To help them, a veterinarian from Alabama quoted, in a video posted on TikTok, dog breeds she wouldn’t buy for the world. In addition to having established this classification which says a lot about the characters of certain doggies, she explained what prompted her to make this choice. And the breed of dog that takes the top step of the podium is none other than… the goldendoodle (or groodle), as well as the other Poodle mixes. The reason ? According to her, these are dogs that require far too much maintenance and “which do not stay in place for more than two seconds”.
In second place, the vet chose Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds. The expert justified her choice by pointing too much work to do to educate these dogs. Because yes, even if they are very good police dogs, they require specific training to be perfectly tamed. “95% of those we see at the clinic want to bite our faces because they are not properly trained“she lamented, before continuing: “I know I wouldn’t be able to train them properly because I don’t have time. If you are considering acquiring one of these dogs, do not do so lightly because they need a lot of training, a lot of attention.”
Brachycephalic dogs, a fragile breed
To complete the podium of dog breeds she recommends the least, the veterinarian has selected the brachycephalic dogs. These short-muzzled doggies, like pugs or French bulldogs, were deemed too fragile by the specialist. Indeed, these dogs are known for their fragile health and respiratory problems. “They snore, I already have a snoring husband, I don’t need anything else”she laughed, before concluding: “Dermatitis of skin folds, allergies, yeasts, odors, gases… it’s a no, for me.“ This should discourage some potential buyers.
