TikTok has never been better than in 2023, as shown by the number of downloads of the app made this year.

After the numerous attacks suffered in the United States, where some expect a possible complete ban on the application, one would have thought that the year 2023 would be difficult for TikTok. And all the more so since the European Union has followed Washington on this burning issue. And yet, nay. The most popular application among 15-25 year olds continues to be popular with the public.

770 million downloads so far in 2023

What could possibly stop the victorious trajectory of TikTok for several years now? Difficult to find an answer when we look at the latest figures provided by AppMagic And Statista.

In fact, over the first nine months of 2023, TikTok was downloaded nearly 770 million times across the planet. This is 110 million more downloads compared to the same period the previous year (660 million), and barely 90 million downloads fewer than for the whole of 2022.

Purchases also up sharply

And these are not the only indicators of good health for the creation of the Chinese group ByteDance. Because purchases have also quite simply exploded on the platform in 2023. At the end of September they represented $1.969 billion, an increase of almost 65% compared to the first nine months of last year.

A figure all the more impressive as it exceeds in three quarters the purchases made during the whole of 2021, purchases which then amounted to 1.681 billion dollars. Suffice to say that if the short video application continued on this momentum, it could well set an absolute record at the end of December.
