Elodie's relaxing sugar scrub

Nothing like a body scrub with a relaxing scent to invigorate yourself while regenerating your skin and mind! And a little bonus to the recipe that we have concocted for you: it promises to make you travel with its ingredients and its soothing smell that will transport you straight to the tropics.
Our recipe also has the advantage of being very easy to prepare if you are new to DIY, but also that of being easy to personalize for the most expert in care home made.

The ingredients you need:
– powdered cane sugar
– coconut oil
– monoi
– ylang-ylang essential oil
* an airtight jar or jar which will serve as a container.

The recipe for the relaxing sugar scrub step by step:

  • Depending on the outside temperature, you may need to liquefy your coconut oil and monoi first, as both solidify naturally when the temperature is below 24 ° C. No worries, just let your bottles of monoi and coconut oil soak in a basin of hot water for a few moments so that they take on a liquid texture, which is easier to process for the recipe. You can also reheat the monoi and coconut oil in a saucepan over low heat if you're in a hurry.
  • In a bowl, put the equivalent of three tablespoons of coconut oil and add the same amount of monoi to create the hydrating base for your homemade body scrub. Your skin will thus benefit from the moisturizing, nourishing and softening properties of these two oils with delicious scents.
  • Then add between two to four tablespoons of cane sugar (at your convenience) to bring the exfoliating aspect to the homemade treatment thanks to the sugar grains. The more generous you are, the more the texture of your liquid treatment will be loaded with exfoliating particles. Mix well so that the grains of sugar are distributed correctly in the hydrating base formed by the two oils.
  • All that's left to do is add a few drops (three at most) of ylang-ylang essential oil to further flavor your scrub and make it as irresistible as it is soothing. You will see, the scents of coconut oil and monoi, and ylang-ylang essential oil combine wonderfully to concoct a treatment that will make you travel in the shower.

Here you are with a sugar body scrub to be used on damp skin in a circular massage all over the body to reveal smooth and silky skin.

Sarah's ultra comforting foot care

We all tend to overlook them, but our feet, too, need to be pampered. And whatever the season. Moreover, they suffer particularly in winter, between the cold and being locked up all day in tight shoes. Here is a natural recipe, to make with simple and inexpensive ingredients, to pamper my dry feet once a week.

The ingredients you need:
– 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
– 2 tablespoons of baking soda
– 1 double-sided grater
– 2 tablespoons of honey
– 2 tablespoons of sugar
– 1 stick of boxwood
– Shea Butter

The recipe for comforting foot care step by step:

  • In a basin of hot water, combine two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, two tablespoons of baking soda and a handful of coarse salt. Let your feet soak for about twenty minutes to soften the skin.
  • Use a grater to remove excess skin, then rinse your feet with clean water. The abrasive side of the rasp reduces calluses, while the softer side will polish them.
  • Make a scrub with two tablespoons of honey and two tablespoons of sugar. Massage your feet with this mixture in every corner, without forgetting the contour of the nails. Insist on rough areas (plant, support points, etc.).
  • With a boxwood stick, push back the cuticles around your nails.
  • To finish, apply shea butter, known for its nourishing and restorative properties.

Little tip : you don't have time for a dip and still want to take care of your feet? Apply shea butter to them and put on a pair of socks at bedtime. Once in the shower the next morning, all you have to do is rub the dead skin with a horsehair glove, for example, to find nourished and soft feet.

Mélissa's cocooning hand treatment

Now is the time to take care of your hands! Every year in winter, they tend to dry out, sometimes even to the point of making you suffer … Now or never to prepare them as they should be faced with the cold! And for that, nothing beats a good homemade moisturizer. No need to take out your wallet, once again, it's a safe bet that all the ingredients you will need are already in your cupboards. Indeed, to make this repairing and nourishing recipe, you will need nothing more than a vegetable oil of your choice (olive, sunflower, rapeseed or sweet almond will do for example perfectly the trick), thus that a little honey.

Once your two ingredients are together, all you need to do is provide yourself with a bowl, in which you will mix a tablespoon of the chosen vegetable oil with a tablespoon of honey (organic, preferably). Think you've got the perfect texture? Just apply it all to your two hands in a very thick layer, before massaging lightly and leaving on for about 30 minutes. Once this period has passed, rinse your hands and dry them to appreciate the result!

Softer than ever, your skin will be deeply hydrated. As it is 100% natural, this treatment can be given whenever you feel the need. However, we recommend that you do it at least once a week, especially if your hands tend to be damaged in contact with the cold. This homemade recipe, as simple as it is effective, will allow you to keep them sweet and nourished until the end of winter … And that is a real luxury!

Marie's mask for damaged hair

Our skin is not the only one to suffer from the winter season. The cold, the wind and the dry air also harm our hair, and leave damage in their path. In winter, you will no doubt have noticed that our hair is dry. Therefore, they are more sensitive to breakage. This season also has an impact on the appearance of our hair, much duller. To remedy this, nothing better than a good homemade mask. A treatment that can be made to measure according to the ailments of our hair, and guaranteed 100% natural. For my part, I chose shine with olive oil, nutrition with coconut oil and repair with honey.

The ingredients you need:

Step by step mask recipe for damaged hair:

  • Apply the mask to dry hair, taking care to avoid the roots.
  • Leave the mask on your hair for an hour or more if you want and have the option.

Loreleï rose beauty oil

If the person who shares your life or a loved one gave you roses or you yourself have decided to spoil yourself (after all, you are never better served than by yourself), enjoy it, once the bouquet passed, but not totally faded to recycle the flowers.
It is particularly pleasant to see that nothing is lost, and to benefit as a bonus from the beauty benefits of the queen of flowers. Moisturizing, soothing and smoothing, it is particularly suitable for sensitive, mature or tired skin. Find out how to pamper yourself with a body oil that is particularly pleasant to use and whose fragrance will make you dream every day.

The ingredients you need:
– The dry petals of two large roses.
– 100ml of neutral vegetable oil (sweet almond, sunflower, hazelnut, grape seeds …)
– 20 drops of essential oil of rose geranium.
* An airtight glass jar.

The recipe for rose beauty oil step by step:

  • Before you start making beauty oil, make sure you get good quality (untreated) and fragrant rose petals. Dry them for one to two days on a clean, dry tray or cloth.
  • On D-day, place the petals in a large glass jar whose lid will close well (this is important for proper conservation of the treatment).
  • Gently cover the petals with the vegetable oil of your choice. Sweet almonds will be particularly pleasant to use on the skin, but others may be suitable as long as they are of good quality and preferably organic. Think of grape seed oil and even the hazelnut and sunflower oils that we all have in our kitchen.
  • Close the jar and stir lightly so that each petal is well coated with oil. Leave the mixture to soak for two to three weeks, preferably by placing it in contact with natural light and the sun so that the infusion is perfect.
  • Filter the macerate obtained with a small fine strainer, a coffee filter or, failing that, a clean cloth, to keep only the liquid. Return the latter to the jar and add the essential oil of geranium. Practice, this will allow the scent of the rose to be increased tenfold, but also the mixture to keep longer. Another tip for better quality care: keep it away from light.

Camille's hydrating body balm

Hydrating and nourishing your skin is important, especially as cold days are rolling around. What could be more rewarding than doing it yourself? We assure you, it's not that complicated. You will need a few ingredients, some time to spare, and most importantly, some elbow grease.

The ingredients you need:
– 50 g of shea butter
– 25 g of coconut oil
– 25 g of sweet almond oil
– 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice

Step by step body balm recipe:

  • Coconut oil is an oil that solidifies naturally if your room temperature is below 24 ° C. If this is your case, don't panic, there are several ways to liquefy coconut oil. Since this recipe contains shea butter, which must also be liquefied, put these two ingredients in a bowl of hot water and you're done! – Put liquid coconut oil and shea butter in a bowl and wait a few minutes for this mixture to cool. Once you can touch it with your finger (washed of course) without it getting too hot, stir in the sweet almond oil. Mix well so that the mixture is homogeneous. – Then leave to stand for at least an hour in your refrigerator so that the balm begins to harden.
  • Now is the step to integrate the essential oil. This should be done when the mixture is very cold so as not to alter the quality of the oil, and therefore to compromise its benefits. You can choose the essential oil that appeals to you the most, as long as it is made for topical use. For our part, we favor the essential oil of ylang-ylang which, in addition to providing a sensual fragrance, is suitable for all skin types.
  • Using an electric mixer or a whisk, give your treatment a whipped cream texture. This will allow you to achieve a fairly airy body balm.
  • Transfer your body balm to an airtight glass jar. You can now use it by applying it all over your body. Your skin is thus well hydrated, nourished and enveloped in a sweet exotic scent, perfect for traveling while staying at home.
