Good news: the operator IECharge is continuing its deployment in France.

It allows you to find a fast recharge for only 30 cents per kWh. So yes, but…

IECharge, the cheapest electric recharge in France?

While we are surely (but slowly) approaching the milestone of 100,000 electric charging stations in France, a new operator is continuing its deployment in our country: IECcharge. This is a company that aims to make electric mobility accessible, affordable and available to everyone.

IECharge wishes in particular to set up in less frequented places, allowing the electrical transition in rural and peri-urban areas. The group is particularly proud of having commissioned the most western charging station in the country, in Saint-Renan. In addition, thanks to an integrated (and patented) storage technology, IECharge promises a lower cost solution, with a price set at 0.30 euro per kWh.

Some sacrifices however

If IECharge is aiming for a total of 1,000 stations available in France by the end of 2023, the network currently only has them… 68. The interactive map available on the brand’s website indicates a little more sixty stations currently under construction. By 2026, the IECharge network should have a total of 5,000 stations.

For the time being, we must therefore content ourselves with a few stations scattered throughout the country. Beyond its rarity, the IECharge terminal also limits its charging power to 320 kW. Each of its stations offers four charging points, for a total power of 500 kW, with generally two charging points of 160 kW and two of 320 kW. The total power varies according to the number of vehicles charging simultaneously (with a minimum of 125 kW).

In terms of payment, IECcharge plays the card of simplicity, since users can choose their preferred method of payment: credit card, mobile application or IECcharge recharge card. ” IECharge will be the first charging station operator in France, and will rapidly expand to the rest of Europe “, promises the company of the NW group.
