Some personalities have had to resort to a hysterectomy for several reasons. This concerns in particular Lorie, who has spoken about it a lot, but also other celebrities such as Karine Le Marchand and Enora Malagré.
First of all, what is a hysterectomy? This is an operation which consists of removing the uterus, partially or entirely. This operation makes you infertile and can even lead to menopause. The people who use it are most often women aged over 50, who suffer from a pathology causing significant symptoms. These symptoms cannot be treated with medication.
Younger women resort to this operation less because it means they will no longer be able to carry a child afterwards. But in some cases, the operation is necessary for them. Some people actually use it to no longer suffer from the pain caused by endometriosis. This was the case of the singer Lorie, who suffers from this disease, but also of Enora Malagré and Laetitia Milot.
These personalities had to resort to hysterectomies
These three personalities, for example, suffer from endometriosis, and had to resolve to undergo this operation. They therefore had to accept the fact of no longer being able to have children after that. Lorie and Laetitia Milot had a lot of difficulty having their very first child, but they were still able to experience the joy of becoming mothers.
Dr Brigitte Letombe, medical and obstetric gynecologist, spoke to our colleagues from Journal des Femmes about this operation. She explained in particular the related side effects: “Most patients think that they are necessarily menopausal after this procedure, but this is not necessarily the case! This only happens when the ovaries are removed, so in the case of total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy and radical hysterectomy.
