These sexual practices that can take you to the emergency room

In a spirit of benevolence, a little reminder of these unique acts not to be attempted during intimate moments. And for good reason: they can land you in the hospital.

The backdrop of emergencies has its share of patients finding themselves in situations that anyone would not want to have, especially when the accident is related to the sexual act. So take the time to think twice before trying a practice that may hurt you or even worse.

To learn about these embarrassing little medical secrets, we asked the Dr Gérald Kierzek *, emergency physician and anesthesiologist.

Bring in air during cunnilingus

During cunnilingus, the scorching atmosphere can give you ideas quite absurd to spice up the moment. Blowing in your partner's vagina can therefore be dangerous. "The air passing between the vagina and the abdominal cavity, via natural communications, can cause pneumoperitoneum"explains the Dr Gérald Kierzek. A pneumoperitoneum is an abnormal buildup of gas in the abdomen (tummy). “It's rare, but it can be seen in two circumstances: postpartum (after childbirth) or when there has been a history of cesarean section, as the suture can be a bit loose,” he says. The doctor adds all the same that it takes a significant pressure and a certain position (a doggy style for example, with a very open pelvis) to arrive at this problem.

Introduce foreign bodies

The introduction of objects during anal practices is not a great novelty, but it still remains a great classic in the emergency room. "Today we see pens being inserted into the urethra of man, which is delusional, because it produces bleeding lesions and infections ", testifies the Dr Gérald Kierzek.

Acrobatic positions

The specialist tells us that the fracture of the penis is also a recurring thing: "The penis is not a bone, but it can fracture anyway, along with its spongy body. Specifically, the latter can get stuck, for example, between a woman's pubis and a hard surface, like a table during a fleeting report."

Likewise, head trauma can also take place during a naughty moment. So pay attention to the positions you are going to perform. The acrobat in you has the right to rest. There is no point in doing too much. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication", remarked Leonardo Da Vinci. Remember, once again, that these cases are rare.

Painful fellatio

Another moment of disgrace: the painful fellatio. "Overall, it is a hemorrhage in the soft palate, when the man's penis hits the palate of the partner. But, you really have to go hard enough. ", says the doctor.

Erosion of the frenulum of the tongue

The frenulum of the foreskin is not the only one to have some inconvenience during a hectic sexuality. "During cunnilingus, the frenulum of the tongue may become hemorrhagic or petechic (small red or purple spots on the skin. Petechiae are micro-hematomas.) Or even become irritated until they rupture", informs Dr Gérald Kierzek.

Behind these "mishaps", it is good to remember that nothing should be hidden from doctors. Ignoring your ailments does not usually lead to a cure. Indeed, some practices may seem shameful to you, but it is not. Sexuality is a sea where there are many ways to act so be brave and courageous and face the experts of the human body. They won't judge you. Medical confidentiality is essential. Think about it.
