More than a new speaker, Sony announced an overhaul of its range this Thursday. The Japanese manufacturer has in fact presented its new Sony ULT range, intended to replace products labeled Extra Bass (XB) with three new Bluetooth speakers on the program, accompanied by the Sony ULT Wear audio headphones.

For its new ULT range, Sony is targeting all segments and all formats, from lightweight portable speakers to sound models to add ambiance to evenings. Three speakers are being launched this Thursday by the firm, the Sony Ult Tower 10, the Sony Ult Field 7 and the Sony Ult Field 1.

A massive ULT Tower 10 speaker

From the largest to the most compact, we can already focus on the new Sony ULT Tower 10 sound speaker, a particularly high-end model which clearly aims to compete with the other reference party speaker, the JBL PartyBox Ultimate. This is a speaker with superlative dimensions of 110.6 x 42.8 x 41.8 cm and a weight of 29 kilos. Clearly, we are looking at a big baby who will move around using two wheels positioned at the back.

The speaker, however, promises superlative audio quality with a beautiful sound signature which, like all models in the ULT range, places particular emphasis on the bass. There are four tweeters positioned on either side of the speaker, two midrange speakers on the front and a large subwoofer behind the main grille.

A special feature of the new Sony ULT range, the Tower 10 is equipped with a “ULT» which allows you to switch, from a classic mode, to two modes supposed to push the bass: Deep Bass and Attack Bass.

Given its format and the high consumption of the speakers, the Sony ULT Tower 10 speaker necessarily operates on the mains. However, it allows you to recharge a smartphone using an external battery function. In terms of connectivity, there is also a jack socket for connecting a guitar or a secondary microphone. Finally, the speaker comes natively with a first microphone to liven up your evenings.

An ULT Field 7 speaker with 30 hours of battery life

In addition to this massive speaker, Sony has also unveiled a slightly more compact model, the Sony ULT Field 7. This time it is positioned opposite JBL’s Xtreme range with a relatively beefy size of 51.2 x 22 .4 x 22.2 cm and a weight of 6.3 kg. The speaker has two tweeters, two midrange drivers – all four positioned on the front – and two passive radiators for the bass, on the sides. The button “ULT» is once again there to increase the power of low frequencies.

There is a PowerBank mode and a jack input, while the speaker this time operates on battery, with an announced autonomy of up to 30 hours.

A portable ULT Field 1 speaker

Finally, the latest Bluetooth speaker model presented by Sony is none other than the Sony ULT Field 1. This time it is a portable speaker with a rather classic format, similar to the JBL Flip, JBL Charge or Ultimate Ears models. EU Boom. The speaker measures 20.6 x 7.7 x 7.6 cm with a weight of 650 grams. It is also equipped with a detachable strap which will allow you to attach it as you wish.

The speaker is IP67 certified and is designed to be resistant to falls up to 1.2 meters in height. It also has a microphone that can be used for calls and has a battery life of 12 hours.

Finally, if the Sony ULT Field 1 is equipped with the new “ULT» to amplify the bass, only one amplification mode is offered this time.

Sony’s three new Bluetooth speakers are available starting this Thursday. The Sony ULT Tower 10 is priced at 1250 euros, the Sony ULT Field 7 at 500 euros and the Sony ULT Field 1 at 160 euros.
