It has been almost four months since little Émile disappeared while he was at his grandparents’ house on that terrible afternoon of July 8, 2023. It is a mystery that investigators and residents of Haut-Vernet have still not solved. Émile, a young boy of two and a half who was in the garden of his grandparents’ family home, disappeared without a trace on July 8. While searches around the hamlet began immediately after her grandparents noticed her disappearance, it was 45 minutes later that Anne, the grandmother, contacted the police around 6 p.m. 12 to report his disappearance.
Beats, dog squads, drones, everything is in place to find the child quickly, but nothing works. The investigation is stagnating and no leads have yet provided more information while investigators do not rule out any hypothesis such as that of the agricultural accident or the doubts surrounding this young 16-year-old farmer. In a long summary of the case of the disappearance of little Émile, the magazine Current values identified the places where the presence of the little boy would have been marked by the dog teams.

Three specific places marked by dogs
For days and days, the gendarmes and dog brigades combed a radius of more than 5 km around the house to find the trace of the little boy. Research which then made it possible to identify three places where the presence of Émile was confirmed. They write : “The Saint-Huberts, specialized in the search for odorous molecules on the ground, “mark” three times: in front of the fountain, but also towards the children’s cabin, located behind the family house and on the main road which goes down towards le Vernet“.
