- Netflix is releasing a new original film, They Cloned Tyrone, on July 21.
- Jamie Foxx, John Boyega and Teyonah Parris star.
- A first trailer reveals what the sci-fi mystery comedy is about.
A pinch of socially critical “Get Out”, the comedy of “Black Dynamite” and a lot of blaxploitation. The new Netflix film “They Cloned Tyrone” delivers all of this, as the first trailer shows. John Boyega (“Star Wars Episode 7 – 9”), Jamie Foxx (“Day Shift”) and Teyonah Parris (“WandaVision”) play an unlikely trio in the sci-fi mystery comedy that uncovers a grand conspiracy.
The trailer exudes a nostalgic 70s flair and reminds a little of the blaxploitation films of that time. The focus is on mystery and comedy, with the latter clearly predominating. The figures always have a cheeky saying on their lips. So fun seems to be guaranteed.
The plot of the film brings the mystery aspect. The trio, consisting of a drug dealer (Boyega), a pimp (Foxx) and a prostitute (Parris), stumble upon a secret laboratory. There they discover clones of themselves and suspect a government conspiracy.
The three quickly find out that experiments are being carried out on the black population. They mobilize the district and get to the bottom of the matter. Friends of jokes, action and some trash will definitely get their money’s worth here. You can watch the film on Netflix from July 21, 2023.
