“They pulled the rug out from under me” Colin evokes on his elimination

After eliminating Setha at the Ambassadors, Colin was also eliminated. The young Swiss revealed to us behind the scenes of his elimination.

The previous episode of Koh-Lanta the Cursed Totem ended with the meeting between Colin and Louana. The two ambassadors designated by the teammates of the opposing team had to agree on an adventurer to eliminate. In case of disagreement, a draw between the two ambassadors would then have been made by presenter Denis Brogniart. An eventuality that did not please Colin who had more chances to shoot the black ball and therefore to leave the adventure because of the penalty linked to the Cursed Totem.

Wishing to remain master of his destiny, Colin decides to eliminate Setha, the former hip-hop dancer who took this news very badly. After Setha’s departure, the adventure continues its course and the adventurers are summoned to the immunity test which will be won by Louana. Three people appear to be in danger as the council approaches. Yannick because of his two cursed bracelets, Maxime for his annoying behavior but also Colin, because of his “betrayal” towards the yellows. It is finally Colin who leaves the adventure. Surprised by his exit, he tells us how his elimination went.

At the beginning of the adventure you are with the blues and everything is going very well. You get along well, you win, you are organized. At the end of the 3rd episode, there is a reorganization of the teams. Were you apprehensive of change or were you happy to test a new format?
The atmosphere among the blues was really better, we got along better and we were organized. We were very connected and on the same line of conduct. Arrived at the yellows it is more complicated because there are already affinities which were born from the old colors but there are also small tensions.

Among the yellows you are very close to Alexandra and Olga but you have small altercations with Yannick. How did you feel in this yellow team?
Overall I had difficulties with the yellows. Right from the start Yannick got into me, he was a little disrespectful to me, he clashed with me, he slept in my place… There were several small spades here and there which meant that in the long term it creates a bad atmosphere and tensions. I found myself facing someone who wants to mark his territory a bit. But afterwards there were very good moments as a team too. I’m thinking in particular of the comforts, it’s really an enchanting parenthesis in the adventure where you forget all the tensions. In those moments, we are more adventurers, we are friends who share a meal together.

As soon as we switch to the format with two teams, you are, with François, the candidate who stands out from the others because you are very efficient. Are you proud of your sporting career?
I am proud of my sporting career but it is true that I came to score individually. I wanted to break records, I intended to show what I was capable of and I think it could have hurt and the rug was pulled from under me. Afterwards, I remain very happy with my overall performance. I especially remember the first event with the bruises with the elastic where we were really good. We lead with a good head start and that from the start of the adventure when we don’t even know each other.

After the elimination of Alexandra who is your friend and ally, do you feel in danger because the reunification is approaching and you feel that you are the man to kill precisely in relation to your performance?
As reunification approaches, we move from votes based on affect and merit, to strategic votes. People realize that we are moving into a phase of individual play. The elimination of Alexandra marked me and it is a fact that I kept in mind when going to the ambassadors. I’m not naive so I know I’m in danger for the rest of the adventure because I’m good at the tests.

In the episodes, we see you saying that you want to be an ambassador, to have your destiny in your hands. Are you worried about negotiating with Louana or are you calm?
I leave serene, I leave confident, I tell myself that I will convince Louana. In any case, I’m happy to be an ambassador since either I manage to make Louana give in or I have my destiny in hand. Going to the Setha ambassadors has been in my sights for a long time and for several reasons. Already because I found her disconnected from the group, she is often withdrawn, it’s her personality and I respect her but I really had no affect with her. Then in relation to the fall of Alexandra who was my friend but also because of the shadow of her imaginary necklace which hovered. For me it was Setha and no one else.

How do you approach your return to the camp where you have to announce your decision to your comrades?
I was not afraid of my return to the camp because I assume my actions and I take my responsibilities. The atmosphere was gloomy but I told myself that it was going to pass quickly and it was, even if it was not a good time.

During the negotiations with the ambassadors, you ask Louana to save you and Olga and in the end, Louana’s team eliminates you with the help of Nicolas and Yannick. Did you expect to go out? And do you blame the people who eliminated you?
At the ambassadors I had negotiated not to vote against Olga and me for three councils. I knew it wasn’t going to hold but I still thought I was safe on the next council. When I see the bulletins in my name, I am very surprised, I did not expect it at all. I felt that Nicolas was still very linked to the ex-greens. And I think the fact that I eliminate Setha was a pretext to eliminate a sports candidate who is scary for the tests. Now the adventure is over and I prefer to remember the good one. I get along very well with Olga, Fouzi, Ambre, François, Bastien and Louana. Besides, I’m currently at Fouzi’s and I’m seeing all this little group again next week in Montpellier.
