A wealthy old lady saw her life insurance account emptied of 5 million euros by two crooks. They have been condemned, but the loot remains untraceable.

A man and a woman managed to subtract 5 million euros from an octogenarian by emptying her life insurance account open to the Mutuelle d’assurances du corps de santé français (MACSF), according to The Parisian. “It’s the biggest account of the MACSF and the scam was committed with disconcerting ease“told our colleagues Thomas Lebreton, the prosecutor at the Nanterre Criminal Court, where the two crooks were tried on Friday June 23.

The scam lasted several months, before the octogenarian’s daughter realized something in the spring of 2017 while trying to log into her mom’s MACSF account. Tried at the Nanterre court on Friday June 23, wife was sentenced to two years in prisonincluding fifteen months suspended and the rest under electronic bracelet, while the man was sentenced to four years in prison.
