Newlyweds looking for unusual moments spend their honeymoon escaping the war in Ukraine. Initially, the couple was to go to North Korea.

James Galbraith, 28, and his wife Olya Osadcha, 26, are newlyweds who just wanted to spend an unforgettable honeymoon. The couple got married on February 22 in Kiev. Death threat obligesthe couple had to revise their plans for the honeymoon which was originally planned in North Korea. In effect, the war between Russia and Ukraine completely upset their plan. Instead of North Korea, the 2 lovebirds were forced to take refuge in Poland.

At the base, the couple had chosen North Korea for its unusual side. James and Olya are, after all, fond of unusual places. Fate, bad luck or luck? The celebration of their wedding will take place in the most unusual context possible, trying to flee the war if we put the horror of it aside.

They have been planning their wedding for 12 months

James, from Wanstead, London, met Olya, from Kyiv, partly through his work. Olya, a tourist guide in Chernobyl, tells that they realized the beginning of the war with the explosions at 6 a.m. on February 24according to Mirror. Since then, the couple kept moving to flee the war. Currently, they live with friends in Katowicein southern Poland until obtaining the Olya visa, still according to Mirror. New plans that are totally different from those of the wedding that had been planned for 12 months. “It was the scariest and most emotional thing we have ever experienced”said the couple.
