“Bridgerton” fans can be happy: The first pictures of the third season are here, which will be all about Penelope and Colin.
The first pictures of the third season of “Bridgerton” are here! As part of its Tudum fan event, Netflix revealed a handful of stills. All images focus on two characters: Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 30) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 36) aka Lady Whistledown – they will be the focus of the new episodes.
Based on the Julia Quinn bestsellers
Inspired by Julia Quinn’s (53) bestsellers, the series accompanies the eight “Bridgerton” siblings in London’s high society in search of love. The first season was about the love story between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor, 28) and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset – played by Regé-Jean Page (35). Season two was all about Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey, 35) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley, 28).
In order to focus on the two characters Colin and Penelope, “Bridgerton” deviates from the chronology of the book template in the third season. The upcoming season is based on the fourth book in the “Bridgerton” series.
“I really feel like Colin and Penelope’s time has come. Having seen these two actors on our screens since season one, we’ve invested quite a bit in them,” she said new showrunner Jess Brownell some time ago “Variety”. There were moments in season two when Colin almost realized Penelope had feelings for him. “Rather than stalling that momentum, we wanted to expand it on her season,” Brownell said.
Penelope gives Colin the cold shoulder
In season three, Penelope is determined to give up Colin and find a suitable husband. The unsuspecting Colin wants to help Penelope find the right man. Meanwhile, Penelope’s friendship with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) is threatened after she learns that Penelope is Lady Whistledown.
A start date for the third season of “Bridgerton” is not yet known. According to “Daily Mail”, scenes had to be re-shot because they were said to have been too dark for series mastermind Shonda Rhimes (53).
