The first four episodes of the third season of “Bridgerton” have appeared on Netflix after a long wait of over two years – leaving fans of the romantic historical series with a huge cliffhanger. Now viewers have to wait about a month, because the second half of the third “Bridgerton” season, which also consists of four episodes, will be released on Netflix on June 13th.

Those involved in the series have already offered a small preview of the plot of the upcoming episodes.

Warning, there are spoilers for episode four of the third “Bridgerton” season

“My dear, Penelope Featherington, do you want to be my wife or not?” The first half of the third season of “Bridgerton” ends with these breathtaking words when Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 31) proposes to Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 37).

This naturally raises numerous questions among fans and viewers regarding the second half of the current season. Will Penelope say yes? And will she reveal to Colin, who doesn’t yet know, that she is actually Lady Whistledown? The new “Bridgerton” showrunner Jess Brownell has now given US media an outlook on the rest of season three, as has Colin actor Luke Newton.

The hunt for Lady Whistledown intensifies

“We have been watching the hunt for Lady Whistledown for two seasons now. The queen is hot on her heels,” reports series manager Brownell in conversation with Variety. In the second half of the current “Bridgerton” season, this will now “become a bigger issue.”

In addition, “much more serious conflicts will come into play” in the continuation of the third season, the showrunner continues. “This includes the fact that Penelope is hiding the fact that she is Lady Whistledown from Colin, and the fact that her relationship with Eloise is still not right at the same time as she is getting together with her brother. So tensions are rising.”

Colin actor Luke Newton reveals details about the rest of the third season

Colin actor Newton also has one to the US trade publication “Deadline” about the rest of the plot of the current “Bridgerton” season. He also promises: “The mystery of Whistledown moves to the forefront of the story.”

In addition, his character would face a real rollercoaster of emotions. “I think it’s really nice to play that moment of contentment where he’s just cocky and happy, but all I can say is that it’s very short-lived,” Newton said.

The actor also promises numerous highlights for episodes seven and eight and thus the season finale of the current “Bridgerton” edition. “So much happens in the seventh and eighth episodes. I thought, ‘There’s no way this can fit in two hours.’ But the pace of the show is so fast this season,” Newton said.
