Thirty Seconds to Mars: US cult band gives exclusive concert in Cologne

US star Jared Leto, 51, leads a highly creative double life: As an actor, he quickly rose to become one of the biggest names in Hollywood with films like “Panic Room” or “Dallas Buyers Club”, and as a musician he stormed with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars, in which his brother Shannon, 53, plays drums, has been a regular hit on the American and European charts since 1998.

After a five-year break, the cult band’s eagerly awaited new album will be released on September 15, 2023 with the promising title “It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day”. Just a few days later, their German fans will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the new songs live.

US superstars at Cologne Future Fair

The future trade fair “Digital X” initiated by Telekom will bring the US superstars to the media metropolis of Cologne on the Rhine, where they will perform a “street gig” on the stage of the MediaPark. As the organizers emphasize, the show takes place not only in an exceptional setting, but also in an intimate and exclusive setting. The tickets are not available at the concert box office, but are raffled off among Telekom customers. Anyone who wants to secure tickets for the exclusive gig should click into the ticket lottery from September 6th at 2 p.m. sharp via the “Magenta Moments” loyalty program.

Exclusive concert in the free live stream

At the same time, however, the “Digital X” organizers also make it possible to host the concert event at home or on the go as a free live stream on MagentaMusik or follow the social media channels of the streaming platform. MagentaTV or the free channel #dabeiTV offers further tuning-in options.

Emotional live performance

Like Jared Leto in one Interview with “Forbes” explained, the release of the new album and the performance of the new songs carry a very emotional component for him. “This album was born under Covid, it was this crazy time we’ve all been going through and it’s been so challenging and heartbreaking for so many people.” In the end, however, a positive work came out with “songs about liberation, both inside and outside”.

In his statement about the concert at the “Digital X” he said: “We can’t wait to be back in Germany in September. It’s been too long since we performed there. A special thanks to Telekom, who invited us to their street gig for the second time. We look forward to presenting new music and playing some of our favorite songs in Cologne.”
