this already cult series is available, it’s unmissable

A long-awaited series is finally available on Netflix. This unmissable program should attract millions of viewers today.

Even during the summer, important releases continue to follow on Netflix. In August, viewers of the platform were able to (re)discover emblematic films such as Basic Instinct, but also original creations such as L’Élu or Painkiller. So there was plenty to do, even when taking the sun. However, the real big piece of this month comes out today, this Thursday, August 31, 2023. This is a long-awaited series that has not failed to make people talk about it. You can finally discover it for yourself.

An extremely anticipated series available on Netflix

This is the big day. Yes, it is today that the live-action series One Piece is released on Netflix. The adaptation has been available since 9:01 a.m. this morning on the SVOD platform. It is clearly THE flagship program of this summer. As a reminder, the series is an adaptation of the first 12 volumes (around 100 chapters) of the cult work by Eiichirō Oda, who worked on this live-action as a consultant and executive producer. Luffy as well as the first Mugiwaras that are Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, but also the important antagonists like Baggy the Clown will ensure the show.

The Netflix series is made up of eight episodes, with the longest being the first, which is just over an hour long. If you want to devour it all at once, you can, because Netflix isn’t releasing the program in multiple parts like it was recently with The Witcher season 3, for example. As a reminder, the One Piece series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy as he creates his crew and goes in search of One Piece, the most coveted treasure in the world. His dream is simple: to become the King of the Pirates.

Another live-action as huge as One Piece

The phenomenon license will therefore now open up to a whole new audience, eager to discover the story of this elastic teenager, jovial as anything. Die-hard One Piece fans shouldn’t be surprised, however, as the live action promises to be faithful, although a few liberties are taken. More surprisingly, they should be won over by this adaptation that no one was expecting. The leaks and the first images hinted at a new disaster as Netflix had a knack for it (hello Death Note), but the series should create a surprise. The few media and fans who have had the chance to see it in preview are unanimous: the One Piece series is more than up to the expectations of its creator, who has dreamed of it for many years.

Remember that in addition to the manga, Netflix also plans to adapt in live-action another cult work, namely Avatar: The Last Airbender. The program, which will also be in eight episodes, was first unveiled at the TUDUM event in June, but we do not yet know its release date.
