Did you think HTC had disappeared from circulation? Think again ! The manufacturer returns with a new Android tablet, the HTC A101 Plus Edition.

HTC, the Taiwanese manufacturer which had its glory days with Android smartphones, is returning to the forefront with a tablet. But what is the HTC A101 Plus Edition worth compared to Apple’s future iPad Pro and iPad Air?

The HTC A101 Plus Edition is nothing exceptional. It has a 10.96-inch diagonal screen, an IPS LCD panel with Full HD definition, very wide borders on the sides of the screen, a Unisoc Tiger T606 chip, two cameras ( one of 13 megapixels on the rear and one of 8 megapixels on the front), a 7,000 mAh battery with 10 watts of charging.

The tablet will first be launched in Russia, where it will be available for 15,990 RUB (around 160 euros), exclusively with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage.

A tablet that is no match for the competition

Really, this tablet doesn’t make you want it. HTC no longer has anything to do with what it represented a few years ago. Even if its latest smartphone is available in France, it has become extremely confidential. The HTC A101 Plus Edition does not seem to have the arguments to compete with Samsung or Xiaomi, or even less Apple.

But then, why does HTC persist in releasing an Android tablet? It is difficult to know.
