It is possible to use Windows as on PC from a smartphone. For the moment, only an Android model is concerned.
Our smartphones have long been real miniature computers. It’s no surprise that people are taking advantage of their ever-larger screens and ever-increasing power to use it for professional purposes. Samsung even went further in thinking by launching its system DeXwhich allows connect your mobiles to an external screen to use them as a computer. Not all models are compatible, although some like the Galaxy Z Flip 5 take the best feature out of it.
Google is also considering such a possibility and the Pixel 8 could well benefit from a function similar to DeX. It’s convenient, but we are still limited by what the system allows to do on its scale. No question of finding all its PC software for example. Basically, wouldn’t the easiest way be to have a smartphone that runs Windows as if you were on your fixed machine ? It is now possible on the Motorola ThinkPhone thanks to a partnership with Microsoft.
The Motorola ThinkPhone makes Windows work thanks to the Cloud
Developed by Motorola-Lenovo for professionals, the Motorola ThinkPhone can now be plugged into an external display and stream a remote Windows computer. So everything depends on the cloudand more specifically on the offer Windows 365 from Microsoft, which allows businesses to stream content from a Windows computer to another device. This necessarily requires a sufficiently fast and stable internet connection.
This partnership is clearly aimed at making ThinkPhones even more attractive to companies. But according to some leaks, it is possible that the Windows 365 offer will be extended to individuals. In other words, many smartphone models might be able to run your Windows PC from anywhere. Obviously, Microsoft must play the game by forming partnerships with other manufacturers than Motorola-Lenovo, which the firm has not yet announced or even hinted at.
