Once considered for a prestigious position in politics, the Suits actress would have received a surprising offer from Queen Elizabeth II to prevent her from leaving England. But three years later, she does not seem ready to return alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton and the others. Recently present with her husband at the Invictus Games, a sports competition dedicated to war wounded, she is reportedly focusing on her work as a producer and is even writing a book.

This week, a video dating from 2018 is circulating on social networks. The TikTok account Sussex Family shows a picture of a particular scene. During an event at the Royal Academy of Arts, Meghan Markle opens and closes her car door herself. This gesture defies the established rules to be respected within the royal family. The reactions were numerous: “I remember that: the newspapers said that she had closed the car door on her own and that this was not acceptable, that she had to be instructed on the protocol”, “I remember when they freaked out that she had closed her own car door. I wondered why this news…literally seems like a full report?!”, “Who would have thought that closing a door would make headlines and call for protocol protocol”…
Years later, the reactions are therefore less severe. Some even express their admiration for the duchess: “My idol”, “I remember that! I love it”, “It’s big enough to close your car door, no more protocol”..
