Leaker Tech_Reve published information on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra on X. Enough to learn a lot about Samsung’s projects in the photo.
While Samsung must present its future Galaxy S24 in less than a month, leaker Tech_Reve is already in the future. On the social network X (formerly Twitter), he published information about Samsung’s photo ambitions not only for its next model “ultra» high-end, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but also for the two following generations, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the leaker does not get too wet, since, according to his information, the main photo novelty of the device resides in its telephoto module. It indicates that Samsung will improve the module by integrating a new 50 megapixel sensor with 0.7 micron photosites for the x5 module.
According to the main rumors, Samsung has in fact planned to abandon the module with x10 optical zoom and 10 megapixel sensor in favor of a 50 megapixel sensor associated with a lens allowing x5 zoom.
Configurations already known for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S26 Ultra
However, Tech_Reve does not stop there and goes so far as to mention Samsung’s plans for its Galaxy S25 Ultra, expected at the start of 2025. According to him, the Korean manufacturer would be banking on three major improvements with a better objective for the main module, an ultra-wide-angle sensor which would increase to 50 megapixels (compared to 12 megapixels currently) and an improved telephoto lens allowing “variable capacities“.
If these “variable capacities» appear unclear, we can imagine that Samsung will allow you to modify the focal aperture on this lens or, more likely, the optical zoom level. For several years, some manufacturers have been working on variable zoom lenses to allow you to move smoothly from a x3 to x5 zoom for example, without losing quality with cropping in the image.
Finally, according to Tech_Reve, Samsung is already working on the Galaxy S26 Ultra scheduled for early 2026. This time, the manufacturer is focusing mainly on a redesign of its main wide-angle camera. It would thus move to a definition of 200 million pixels with photosites of 0.7 microns on each side, compared to 0.6 microns currently. The sensor would also be larger than on the current Galaxy S23 Ultra, going from a 1/1.3″ format to a 1/1.1 inch format.
We will still have to wait a long time before knowing more about the next smartphones “Ultra» from Samsung. If the Galaxy S24 Ultra is to be presented next month, the other two models will arrive in one and two years respectively. Above all, between now and then, Samsung has time to review its plans and offer other configurations for the cameras on board its phones.
