Since mid-November 2023, the withdrawal of points from certain drivers fined on French roads has not been carried out. This is a computer bug within the National Agency for Automated Offense Processing (Antai) which was confirmed by the National Union of Points License Professionals (Snpap) on May 7, 2024.
600,000 files have not been processed
As Joël Polteau, president of Snpap, explains, “the bug was spotted in mid-November 2023 in the almost 300 points permit centers. We noticed a significant drop in the number of trainees”. A major problem since, as reported Progressapproximately 600,000 files were not processed between mid-November 2023 and May 2024.
But why such a bug? This is the consequence of a measure carried out by Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, which puts an end to the withdrawal of points for speeding below 5 km/h since 2024.

Following this decree, Antai revised its computer system to adapt, which caused the bug. In recent days, the problem has been corrected by the teams and letters or emails will arrive soon for those who have escaped the withdrawal of points in recent months. All sanctions will be applied and the respite will only be short-lived for the offenders.
