Our little hearts melted when we saw this story of purring therapy, which has continued to gain momentum on social media since Ahmed Flaty, an Egyptian nursing student, shared it on Facebook in October 2020. It had been twenty days since 'he was 12 hour days, he found comfort between the paws of a stray cat. Ahmed was on a break with a friend from his hospital ward, when he came across this tabby kitten, who didn't hesitate to jump on his knees and hug him: “I was sitting down to talk with a friend of mine outside the hospital where we are doing our internship. Then the kitten came up to me before hopping onto my lap. It didn't meow, it mowed me down. 'just watched ", he explains to The Dodo.

I had 12 hours of service for 20 consecutive days, but this cat took all my fatigue away.

Suffice to say that it was a moment of tenderness that comforted Ahmed, as he was exhausted from his day. A tender moment, but also surprising according to the young intern, who also explains to The Dodo : "In Egypt, stray animals are treated very badly. So a kitten or a dog that approaches a human in this way, especially when there is no food, is very strange."

Honestly, it really was the best moment of this year so far.

So the current went well as the cat took a nap on Ahmed’s lap for a good twenty minutes. A soothing moment for these two new best friends. Indeed, this moment of respite did a lot of good to the young man: "I had 12 hours of service for 20 consecutive days, but this cat took all my fatigue away. Honestly, it really was the best moment of this year so far. " This story is proof that being around a pet makes you happier.
