In 2023, Prince Harry has fought many legal battles. In particular, he had sought to obtain security equivalent to that of other members of the royal family. This consisted of a request for police protection, paid for with his personal funds, during his visits to England. A request which was rejected in May 2023. But it does not stop there, because the Duke of Sussex had also made the headlines for his war against the tabloids, and in particular the Mail on Sunday. The latter had notably made revelations in an article on the protection of Prince Harry, who then decided to file a request in order not to go to court. This was ultimately rejected by the courts, who forced him to pay a large fine. He should therefore have returned to court to resolve it but, in a turnaround, Prince Harry decided to stop everything.

According to the Daily Mail“Harry threw in the towel“, and would therefore have decided not to go to court. But this is not without consequences, as revealed by the British media. Indeed, abandoning the proceedings should cost him a small fortune: “He will now have to pay the newspaper’s costs, amounting to 250,000 pounds (290,000 euros) as well as his own lawyer’s fees, for a total bill of more than 750,000 pounds (or 874,000 euros).” A colossal sum that Meghan Markle’s husband is therefore ready to pay in order not to go to court. A reaction which would lead to questions, knowing that justice had only asked Prince Harry to pay only a fine of 48,447 poundsa much smaller sum than he would have to pay by dropping the charges.
Meghan and Harry stripped of their royal titles?
We know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not on good terms with other members of the royal family. However, would this go so far as to strip them of their royal titles? A legitimate question, knowing that Harry and Meghan left the United Kingdom to live and raise their children in the United States. According to some sources of Daily Mail, this option would not be considered by King Charles III. Indeed, the latter would in no case wish “humiliate” his son and his daughter-in-law. But what will really happen? For the moment, no confirmation or denial has been made from the royal family.
