This cult cartoon from the 80s is going to have its French live series!

After a live adaptation announced for “Nicky Larson” on Netflix, it’s the turn of another Japanese anime to resume service: “Signed Cat’s Eyes” in a live series on TF1? It would seem good…

She rocked our childhood and is about to return to our small screens: but in live action this time! Indeed, according to Le Parisien, TF1 is developing, in all discretion, an adaptation of the Signé Cat’s Eyes series under the direction of director Alexandre Laurent, to whom we already owe Les Combattantes and Le Bazar de la Charité. Production company Big Band Story is also said to be involved.

We remind you, Signé Cat’s Eyes is the story of the three Chamade sisters, Tam, Alex and Sylia. During the day, they run the Cat’s Eye café. At night, they become formidable thieves, recovering the works that belonged to their father, who disappeared in strange circumstances. They always sign their burglaries by leaving a card… Facing them is Inspector Quentin Chapuis who is in charge of the investigation, a case he has great difficulty in solving… even though he is in a relationship with the youngest of thieves!

The 73-episode Japanese animation series, created from the eponymous manga by Tsukasa Hōjō – also creator of Nicky Larson – was broadcast between 1983 and 1985 on the Japanese network NTV before landing in France on September 21, 1986. on FR3 (France 3) on Sundays at the end of the afternoon in the program “Amuse 3”. We could then see her later in “Les Minikeums” as well as in other programs over the years.

If the castings have not yet started, TF1 is already considering a prime time broadcast over several evenings to pay tribute to the cult series. Although it is not confirmed, the chain seems to want to travel internationally to film the fiction which should therefore not arrive on our screens for a little while.

A true emblem of Japanese animated productions of the 80s, Signé Cat’s Eyes is in line with Dragon Ball, Olive and Tom, Grendizer and other Knights of the Zodiac who have accompanied – and continue to accompany – generations.

While waiting to see its live version, rediscover the animated series on DVD or streaming on the Salto platform where you only have a few days left to (re)watch it…
