fun, news, tips… what else?

10 years after the end of How I met your mother, fans will be happy to find a character from the original series in its spin-off: How I met your father.

Find the spirit of How I met your mother is now possible. The series that kept millions of viewers hooked on Ted’s love stories has been resurrected in a way with the arrival of its spin-off, How I put your father.

This version offers a new story and new characters. The main character of Sophie is played by Hilary Duff. It is she who tells, this time, how she met the father of her children.

For those nostalgic for How I put your mother, the production gave them a nice surprise in the last episode of season 1. It was the unexpected arrival of a key character in the series that inspired this new format. While Sophie goes to the famous pub, Maclaren’s, she meets Robin there! Indeed we discover Cobie Smulders, who plays a Robin after her divorce, but when she is at the peak of her career.

Robin gives advice to Sophie in How I met your father

In this scene, Sophie seeks refuge to forget the turn her relationship with Jesse has taken. She then comes across Robin who will try to give her advice so as not to torture herself too much. “Don’t waste your time being afraid. Fear can make you run away from things that could be good, even great! Things that are supposed to be part of your story”, Robin throws at Sophie. The scene is a nod to the previous series that many fans were sad to see go.

It was not easy to shoot this brief sequence, since the Mclaren’s of Ted’s time had been dismantled. The producers of the series explained to TVLine that they were able to shoot this scene “in the original decor, even if it was necessary to redo all the details and the decorative elements, because only the walls and the seats were left. They took archive photos to put everything back in order square…”

It is not known if other characters of How I met your mother could appear in future seasons, but anything seems possible. The brief passage of Robin could motivate those nostalgic for How I met your mother to join the new installment of the series.
