The description of FF7 Rebirth has just been revealed, and it seems to reveal a very important element of the plot. Fans are already dissecting it.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake was an opportunity for players to (re)discover a classic from the PS1 era. It’s a complete overhaul, even going so far as to modify elements of the scenario. If it didn’t please everyone, the work done on the remake is still astonishing. Its sequel, called Rebirth, is therefore expected around the corner, and Square Enix regularly gives us information. This time, on the other hand, it is not the firm which has a strong tongue, but the ESBR which, with its rating, describes the game in a few lines and potentially reveals very interesting elements likely to reassure fans the most skeptical regarding the turn events are taking.

FF7 Rebirth may not change everything
We know that this new opus will proceed in the same way as its predecessor. That is to say that he will not hesitate to shake up major axes of the original scenario. The beginnings of these changes were seen in the first part of the remake released in 2020, and the pill did not pass for a handful of players. For example, Zack is now alive, when he should have perished at the end of the spin-off Crisis Core. And he won’t be alone, as the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, confirmed to us. “OBesides Zack, who wasn’t in the original but will make an appearance here, there will be other characters from the FF7 spin-offs who will appear in Rebirth “.
Can we expect further alterations? That’s the question many fearful fans are asking, especially regarding Aerith’s fate. The latter is supposed to die during the adventure. An important scene for many. Well, there could well be good news on the horizon, well not for everyone. Indeed, the ESRB evaluated FF7 Rebirth by giving a brief summary of certain elements found in the adventure. We can read in particular: “ It is an action-RPG game in which players follow the story of a mercenary (Cloud Strife) on his quest to save the planet “. So far, nothing unusual, but one sentence caught the players’ attention.
History could well take its course…
“ Some cutscenes show other examples of violence, sometimes with splashes or pools of blood: characters impaled or slashed by swords, sometimes with slow motion effects; an assassin throwing a spinning blade at a targeted person; characters shot by soldiers “. This passage evokes characters impaled by swords. The connection with Sephiroth taking Aerith’s life in this way didn’t take long to be made. Does that mean that she will suffer the same fate as in 1997’s FF7? It’s not yet confirmed, but it’s a pretty reliable clue. This should be a relief to those who don’t like the basic material to be touched, especially when it comes to the story.
This could just as easily refer to another scene, from a flashback where another character suffers the same yoke from Sepiroth. We will see that soon! Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected on February 24, 2024 and we will certainly see it during the Game Awards ceremony soon, especially since it is one of the nominees in the most anticipated games category.
