This cult series from the 90s will be entitled to its reboot (and some actors from the era will make their return)

The legendary series from the 90s will soon be back to the delight of fans. And iconic actresses from the original series will be in the cast!

Melrose Place is an eponymous series which marked the 90s. Thirty-two years ago, viewers discovered the emblematic characters of the series. As a spin-off of Beverly Hillsthe series evoked the life of young people in their thirties. The latter tried to integrate into professional life with some difficulty. While the first audiences were not very positive, producer Darren Star added a “drama” side to the show. The emblematic characters have notably marked the successful series, Melrose Place.

Thus, certain characters arrived along the way like Amanda Woodward played by actress Heather Locklear at the end of the first season, or even Sydney Andrews played by Laura Leighton. We could also find the emblematic Kimberley Shaw. While the show’s ratings continued, the series ended in 1999, after seven seasons of broadcast. And a big return is planned as revealed by Deadline.

It’s the fans who will be delighted. A continuation of the essential series of the 90s is in progress… It will be created by Lauren Gussis who notably worked on Dexter. While CBS Studios has already planned new episodes which are currently being developed, the former residents should reunite following the death of one of them. However, the reunion already promises to be problematic. Indeed, resentments will arise.

In the new episodes, residents of Melrose Place will come together to honor a deceased person, Deadline revealed. “The reunion soon reveals old traumas, rekindles old romances, rekindles old resentments and reveals new secrets, plunging our characters in a drama chaotic that recalls the past, but with a much more modern perspective”we can read.

And the casting of the show also promises to be memorable with the return of three great actresses. Indeed, Heather Locklear (Amanda), Laura Leighton (Sydney) – and Jo (Daphne Zuniga) will be part of the cast to the great pleasure of fans of the series. It’s not the first time that a spin-off of the series is being considered. Indeed, The CW had proposed a spin-off of Melrose Place in 2009. This adaptation was organized around the show of Sydney (already dead the first time in season 5 of the original series). This show a little more modern that the initial version had not convinced the fans. The production, however, managed to motivate Heather Locklear (Amanda) to return to the series.
