this cut content could have changed everything

Assassin’s Creed Mirage could have included even more content, and we were shown just what we could have had. There were some really interesting things.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage offered us a very pleasant trip to Badgad. So yes, this is perhaps not the famous “back to basics” we have been waiting for. Nevertheless, we must recognize that it was able to seduce us with its worked atmosphere, its homage to old episodes and its charming soundtrack. Moreover, in our columns, we gave it a nice 7/10. Now, we are entitled to ask ourselves a question: was there any content cut before the game’s release? After all, it can happen during development. This was indeed the case here, and we were given a glimpse of it.

Here is the cut content from Assassin’s Creed Mirage

It was Stephane Boudon, the creative director of the new opus, who returned to this famous content which never arrived safely. He notably mentioned the presence of a monkey, which would have served as Basim’s companion. “We never like to cut things. But sometimes there is a good reason to do it. The monkey companion is a good example: it was cut very, very early on, as a concept on paper – but we cut it for many reasons.”. It goes without saying that it piques curiosity, but this choice on the part of the studio is understandable.

As he explains so well, the reasons are primarily budgetary. In the case of the monkey, it requires a lot of work in terms of animation, and therefore a lot of money. He also indicates that it would have been necessary to do motion capture for the animal, and we can only imagine the hassle that must be. At the moment, Ubisoft Bordeaux could not afford that. He did not have the means at his disposal. But that’s not the only thing that was cut from Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

We are also told of sandstorms that could have occurred in-game or of an enemy capable of controlling dogs. For the latter, the firm has not found a way to neutralize the animal without killing it. And then, it seemed too cruel to them, so the idea was thrown away. For the most curious, below, Ubisoft has put a table on which we can see the abandoned content. We notice that there is the New Game Plus, which ended up arriving in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. After all, sometimes you can also go back. In any case, it’s very interesting.
