While the first big DLC for Diablo 4 is arriving soon, a certain Path of Exile is preparing its return and it looks really solid! Moreover, a new class has just been revealed: the Witch.
Scheduled for the end of 2024, Path of Exile 2 appears more and more as a serious competitor to Diablo 4, whether thanks to the reputation of its first episode or the quality of its video presentations. Recently (during Summer Game Fest), we were able to try Grinding Gear Games’ hack’n’slash for six hours, and the least we can say is that we were packaged. In our opinion, he could be the “new master of the genre”. We remind you that PoE2 is expected free-to-play on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S… and that it will first arrive in early access.

Not Wish but Witch
If we’re talking to you about it now, it’s because the developers of Grinding Gear presented, in a ten-minute video published on June 11, a new feature: the “Witch”. A character who can obviously cast spells but above all summon a whole bunch of minions, from skeletons to zombies, including kinds of scorpions 100% based on bones… Servants who are sometimes classified into several subclasses – like skeletons – and who obey you at your finger and eye, being able to attack a specific opponent, open a door or even a chest! Depending on your army, you will have different powers, such as exploding allies with little health or diffusing a cloud of poison. We don’t know the exact number of friends that the Witch can invite, but on the video, in a level 30 zone, there are around fifteen servants on the screen.
A very promising class
The Witch is also the class that we were able to try during our preview at the Summer Game Fest – and again, it’s a hit… As written in our preview, this is a class “very interesting to play” which is also divided into several subclasses and which leaves little room for downtime. In its full version, Path of Exile 2 will feature 12 main classes including The Druid, The Monk, The Mercenary and The Huntress. Grinding Gear has not yet revealed the full cast. There may be a few surprises. We’re waiting to see what the team has in store.
