13 women die at the hands of the “Boston Strangler” in the 1960s. In the film of the same name, Keira Knightley embarks on a dangerous search for the serial killer as journalist Loretta McLaughlin. Disney+ is now releasing a first trailer for the chilling true crime thriller, which will be released on the streaming service on March 17, 2023.
Loretta actually writes for the lifestyle section of a local newspaper, but since she is the only one who recognizes the connection between the increasing number of murders of women, she defies her boss and the police and investigates on her own. She is supported by her friend and colleague Jean Cole (Carrie Coon).
The film also stars Alessandro Nivola (“Amsterdam”), David Dastmalchian (“Dune”), Morgan Spector (“Homeland”), Bill Camp (“Joker”) and Chris Cooper (“Adaptation”). Matt Ruskin is directing, with Ridley Scott producing.
A dedicated podcast, Truth and Lies: The Boston Strangler, will accompany the film.
