Cannondale introduced a new compact electric bike earlier in November called the Compact Neo. This model offers good value for money.
The American manufacturer of bicycles and electric bicycles Cannondale reinforced its range of VAE during the month of November with the Compact Neo. As its name suggests, this model relies on a more contained template than normal and a practical aspect for mainly urban journeys.
Available in a single frame size, the Compact Neo opts for 20-inch K-Rad tires signed Kenta. Its aluminum frame is slightly reminiscent of that of the VanMoofs, again on a slightly different size scale. Above all, this trendy cycle relies on clever little systems to accentuate its all-purpose side.
Foldable handlebar
The handlebars can bend and align themselves with the axis of the frame, when the pedals are retractable. Small tricks that we had come across on the excellent IWEECH and which had turned out to be very practical for parking your bike at the office without obstructing the passage because of too wide handlebars.

The 18 kilos of the Compact Neo may seem a bit high given its size, but it’s still decent for an electric bike. The rest of the technical sheet reconciles us well as it should, given the 75 km of autonomy offered by the 250 Wh battery, nestled in the diagonal tube of the frame.
Be careful all the same: it is not specified with which mode of electric assistance – three in number – this radius of action was obtained. You also have to rely on a 250 W Hyena motor placed on the hub of the rear wheel, associated with a force sensor. On the other hand, the couple is not indicated.
Reassuring brakes
The good news is that the force sensor provides a dynamic, responsive and natural riding experience, as the assistance is transmitted in proportion to the force you put into the pedals. And to play with the resistance of the crankset, an eight-speed transmission is included.
The safety part is ensured by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm discs. Clearly reassuring. As standard, the Compact Neo comes with a Hermans luggage rack, mudguards and rear and front lights.
For the moment, only the American site offers it at a price of 1900 dollars, specifies Hibridos and Electricosor 1833 euros at the current exchange rate, not counting the taxes inherent in France.
