This electric bike weighing less than 12 kg has crazy autonomy

Far from the city center cycle paths, on a Sunday morning on the road, the electric bike is also gaining ground among purists. It is normal for manufacturers to increase the number of new products in this area, like the Spanish company BH Bikes.

This electric road bike cuts through the air

Its new flagship in electric road bike is the iAerolight, whose name is evocative, we learn eBikeNews. Because the objective here is to focus on performance with a weight of 11.8 kg and reduced air resistance. The carbon fiber frame – weighing just 1.4kg – is profiled under the top tube, as well as with its flat-sided fork, chainstays and seatstays.

The one-piece handlebar even merges with the head tube, while specific 450 ml bottles from the BH road range are available to reduce penetration into the air. It is actually an almost identical version of the muscular Aerolight model.

A feat for the Basque manufacturer, which housed the 410 Wh battery in the diagonal tube, enough to provide 130 km of autonomy. You can even add a second 250 Wh external battery, can-style, to reach a maximum of 180 km. The BH Aerolight is of course distinguished by its central engine. The BH 2EXMag house block – already seen on the more urban Core Cross – delivers a superb torque of 65 Nm, while weighing only 2.1 kg.

A very high-end BH iAerolight

The manufacturer markets three versions of the BH iAerolight:

  • iAerolight 1.7: 7,699.90 euros;
  • iAerolight 1.8: €8,999.90 euros;
  • iAerolight 1.9: €10,999.90 euros;

The 1.7 model starts with the popular Shimano 105 12-speed drivetrain – 11-34T cassette for all – but in Di2 electronics, with an aluminum crankset. The latter goes to carbon on the 1.8 inheriting from the Ultegra and the 1.9 from the Durace.

Other developments, the basic FSA Team 35 TR wheels move to the Trimax 35 TR then to the in-house BH Evo C50 Carbon TR models. Same for the handlebars, in carbon from variant 1.8. Finally, the BH iAerolight 1.9 includes the second battery. And we love the online configurator to adopt your favorite livery.
