Officially revealed on October 12, the new Polestar 3 is starting to reveal some information about it. In particular, it promises a range exceeding the 600 kilometer mark.
After the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2, the Swedish brand, which became independent from Volvo in 2018, obviously does not want to stop there. It plans to launch several models, starting with the Polestar 3. Unlike its first two vehicles, which took the form of sedans, this time it’s an electric SUV. And now we begin to know a little more about it.

We will have to wait a few more days before knowing everything about this newcomer, while the brand announces in a press release that its presentation is scheduled for October 12. Nevertheless, this one seems rather impatient, when she had already lifted the veil on a series of photos showing the SUV in its final version. It had also given some information on its technical characteristics at the same time, without however saying too much. We knew, however, that two versions would be launched, dubbed Long Range Dual Motor Plus Pilot and Long Range Dual Motor Plus Pilot Perform, with powers ranging from 489 to 517 horsepower.
Equipped with a 107 kW battery, the latter would then be able to travel approximately 611 kilometers on a single charge according to the WLTP cycle. The electric SUV may only require 4.7 to 5 seconds to achieve 0 to 100 km/h, for a speed limited to 209 km/h, whatever the version. As explained Coachthis newcomer to the range will be based on the new SPA2 platform developed by the brand and should weigh 2,584 kilos in total.
The SUV will be equipped with a LiDAR provided by Luminar, thus making it possible to offer autonomous driving functionality. As a reminder, level 3 has now been authorized in France since September 1st. Comfort should be there with adaptive air suspensions
From 75,000 euro
Of course, we will have to wait a little longer before knowing the precise technical details of this new Polestar 3. It will then be available to order in the days following its revelation, for a price starting around 75,000 euros. It will then be necessary to count on around 100,000 euros for the best performing finish. The electric SUV, rival of the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace in particular, will therefore not be eligible for the ecological bonus in France. On the other hand, it should indeed be sold to us, while Polestar has reconciled with Citroën, after a legal standoff that has been going on for several years.
Later, another electric crossover called Polestar 4 will arrive in the range, for a lower price of around 55,000 euros. It should then see the light of day between 2024 and 2025 and compete with the Tesla Model Y. In parallel, the firm will launch the Polestar 5, a large sedan rival of the Tesla Model S, Mercedes EQS and Porsche Taycan. This should carry a 103 kWh battery and display a range of 600 kilometers about. It should feature an 800-volt architecture and bi-directional V2G charging.
The legal saga between Polestar and Citroën is finally coming to an end. The Swedish manufacturer Polestar will therefore finally have the right to market its electric cars in France. How long we’ve been waiting for!
