This evening on TV: one of the best Asterixes ever made

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: Getafix is looking for an heir.

In 2014, Alexandre Astier and Louis Clichy struck a blow with Asterix – Le Domaine des Dieux, which brought together nearly 3 million spectators on French soil. Four years later, they came back even stronger with Asterix – The Secret of the Magic Potion, which surpassed the score of its predecessor by approaching 4 million admissions.

Whether writing the screenplay or directing, the two men are once again working together. They thus deliver a completely new story, centered on Panoramix and its search for an heir druid, and take up significant technical challenges in order to maintain a cartoon aspect to the image and therefore, a comic strip spirit.

Their humor (characteristic of Kaamelott’s father), their inventiveness and their modernity are hailed by a nomination for the César 2019 in the Best animated film category.

With an average viewer rating of 3.9 out of 5 on AlloCiné, Asterix – The Secret of the Magic Potion is one of the best-rated Asterix films by Internet users – ex aequo with Asterix – The Domain of the Gods and The Twelve Labors of Asterix -, just behind Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (which has an average of 4.1 out of 5).

Will the next adventures of the irreducible Gauls staged by Guillaume Canet in The Middle Empire do better? Answer on February 1st.
