This ex-Miss France who should have been called Kevin at birth! : Current Woman The MAG

Incredible but true. As she explains in her book Become fully and serenely yourself, published on March 18, 2021, Delphine Wespiser was not immediately recognized as a girl when she was born. Indeed, the former Miss France, who officiated as a columnist in Do not touch My TV, was the victim of an error at the time of his birth. As her parents look forward to meeting their new baby, after months of having kept the suspense around sex, a nurse tells them that … it's a boy! Immediately, they hasten to find a first name that resembles her, just as Nathalie Péchalat and Jean Dujardin had done for their first daughter. Problem, the midwife made a small mistake …

A medical error that transfixed his parents

On March 7, 2021, Miss France 2012 announced great news to her Instagram subscribers: "On March 18th you will discover a secret about my birth … We all have intentions that landed on us the day we were born and that colored our life in a certain way … making us unique and different. It only remains for us to understand them and make them a force: Become fully and serenely oneself ", she wrote, below a series of photos where she appears with a boyish cut. And it is not a hazard. Indeed, Delphine Wespiser refers to an anecdote that marked the moment of her birth: her parents took her for a boy.

"My father was in pole position (…) Although overwhelmed by emotion, my father saw a little girl, but he listened without contradicting her to the midwife who, after having wrapped me in a diaper, told them: 'It's a little boy !' My father must have seen badly. My parents decided to call me Kevin ", she explained in her book, of which Leisure TV shared some snippets. Fortunately, the medical error was quickly corrected when the doctor arrived: "The door opened, the midwife entered the room, red with shame, and stammered: 'I … I was wrong, you have a little girl!' My father decided: 'It will be Delphine' ".
