“This false debate”, here is what really happened with the banana theft

As is often the case in Koh Lanta, food is crucial for the often hungry candidates, who visibly lose weight throughout the program. Some, luckier than others, sometimes come across fruit in the middle of the jungle. This is what happened to one of them in Koh Lanta, the immunity hunters since he found a bunch of bananas… However, he was suspected of having kept some of the fruit for himself so that he claimed to have shared everything

This Tuesday, April 2 on TF1, it was Maxime who was eliminated from Koh Lanta, the immunity hunters after seven weeks of participation. After his elimination, he responded to an interview with Purepeoplewhere he was finally able to explain the theft of bananas that he allegedly committed at the start of the season.

A bad mental calculation at the origin of suspicions

What led to doubt in the minds of Koh Lanta viewers about Maxime’s honesty about this sharing of bananas is his assumption of keeping the bananas for himself which he does, in the face of camera, when he comes across the fruits by chance in the jungle. “I was frustrated because we lost the first event and I didn’t want to share bananas with some girls who said they were maze experts when that wasn’t the case.” Maxime tells Purepeople. He then changes his mind when his comrades join him and the banana affair could have ended there…

Things become complicated when he poses a mental arithmetic problem to the other adventurers… “In fact, I’m talking about keeping 10% and leaving 90% for the others. That was to find out if people know how to do the math or not and I realize that it’s quite complicated . Because everyone thinks I wanted to either steal or keep the bunch of bananas. Whereas when I keep 10%, it’s just my share.” explains Maxime to Purepeople.

The editing of the show would be in question

Maxime is subsequently suspected of having kept 10% of bananas in addition to the share that everyone received at the camp, after sharing between all the adventurers. “Ah, those are just guesses! The images are well edited…” Maxime defends himself.

“At worst, out of 60 or 70 bananas, even if I eat 3, 4, 5 more than the others, I don’t think it’s going to change much so that’s not the subject. Afterwards, there’s The way it’s presented is also quite funny. But I insist, even if I keep 10% aside, everyone still has 8%. It’s a false debate ” insists Maxime in his interview with our colleagues at Purepeople.
