This FIFA 22 bug totally disrupted the community

A totally confusing new bug in FIFA 22 has given the offending team an advantage by giving them an undeserved free kick.

Since the game was released in September 2021, the EA SPORTS football simulation game has experienced numerous bugs and glitches of all kinds. But even several months after its release and with many updates on the clock, we still find bizarre bugs that will unfairly advantage some players in matches.

On FIFA, we often hear the community complaining about the various problems of the game, sometimes just because they want to be heard, other times rightly when a bug comes to cost them a potential victory in a match.

A massive hack recently affected many FIFA 22 players.

On Reddit, user SMH24679 shared a video of an excerpt from one of his matches on FUT 22. In the last seconds of the excerpt in question, we see one of the opposing players completely tackle one of his attackers who didn’t even have the ball.

Logically, the referee blows his whistle and gives a yellow card to the guilty defender. But surprise when the game resumes after the sanction, the free kick is given to the offending team.

“Can someone explain to me what is happening in this clip?”

Logically, when a fault is whistled against a team, it is the opposing team which must benefit from the free kick, but this was not at all the case on this action.

Looking closer, you can see that the linesman at the bottom of the screen has raised his flag to signal an offside position just after the tackle. However, the player with the ball was not about to make a pass or anything and the opposing player still received a yellow card for his dangerous tackle.

We don’t really know how this bug happened but it still spoiled real game action, even if the score was already 1-6 at this point in the match.
