For the summer of 2022, Netflix has released the heavy artillery. The streaming giant has announced the release of “The Gray Man”, an action film carried by an XXL cast.
As the high temperatures arrive gradually, netflix intends to freshen up its catalog. To do this, the platform has announced the next flagship content not to be missed. Among them, an action film which presents itself as the success of the summer: The Gray Man. Announced for July 22, 2022, the program promises to thrill viewers. “‘Gray Man’ is the code name for CIA agent Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six. Recruited from a federal prison by his case officer, Donald Fitzroy, Gentry was once a fearsome hitman in the pay of the CIA. But the situation has radically changed: Gentry is now the target of Lloyd Hansen, a former sidekick in the CIA, totally determined to track him down around the world to eliminate him. To carry out this major new project, netflix appealed to the cream of the crop. These are the brothers Joe and Anthony Russo who will strive to make this film the new essential nugget of Hollywood. On the writing side, these are Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely who took care of the screenplay. As you will have understood, this production team, closer to the Avengers than to human beings, has the mission of competing with the biggest action film franchises (James Bond, Jason Bourne, etc.). For the occasion, the streaming giant has put its hands in its pocket. The realization of the project is already the most expensive in the history of the platform with an allocated budget of approximately $200 million.
“The Gray Man”: an extraordinary cast
With such a budget and such a production team, all that was missing was a cast that was up to the challenge. And that’s good! Here too, Netflix has released the big game. The cast is true All-stars since it includes: Ryan Goslingwho will be in the shoes of Gray Man, Steve Rogers, or even Chris Evans who will play Lloyd Hansen. To complete the cast, the supporting roles will also be performed by recognized actors. We therefore find: Ana de Armas, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thornton as well as Regé-Jean Page. “The intention is for ‘The Gray Man’ to be as competitive as any film, and the chance to do so with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us.
