A nice surprise awaits fans of a certain opus of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and Skyrim has something to do with it. We can thank the fans for that.
Skyrim is an RPG that needs no introduction as its popularity speaks for itself. It’s a cult title from Bethesda that really left its mark. But there were others before him, like Oblivion or Morrowind. The latter are also appreciated by players, but they are gradually falling into oblivion. The community has therefore taken matters into its own hands to avoid this disastrous fate, and this is how we have good news to announce to you.
A remaster of Morrowind thanks to Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was (and still is) kept alive thanks to the work of a number of fans. They regularly offer us mods that enrich the game’s offering. Or make it totally crazy, it’s your choice. And in fact, there is one that is in the process of being set up, and it deserves your attention. For good reason, it aims to deploy a remaster of the third opus using the engine of the fifth. If we’re telling you about it, it’s because we recently had additional information about it, with supporting gameplay.
Its full name is “ The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Skywind total conversion mod “. At least it’s pretty direct, while still making a little play on words with Morrowind. From what we understand, development is going quite well. The thinking heads behind the project affirmed this during a livestream serving as a recap of the year 2023. On the menu, we were even treated to new gameplay images, just to make our mouths water. The least we can say is that the developers don’t do things by halves.
For the moment, there is no release date to note. It’s already reassuring to know that the work is continuing without too many problems. Besides, know that an Oblivion remaster is also in the pipeline. The idea is the same: use the Skyrim engine to offer a graphical overhaul of 4. The big difference with the other one is that it is “almost finished”, with a release window set at next year. It remains to be seen who will be released first, him, or the official remaster which has not yet been presented to the public. We can’t wait to have the answer, but for now, patience is required.
